Hiring: Senior Alarm Technician

Thunder Bay, ON — Full-time

Apex Investigation & Security has protected homes and businesses in Northwestern Ontario for 40+ years. We're seeking an experienced Senior Alarm Technician to join our growing team.

AS A SENIOR ALARM TECHNICIAN, YOU WILL:

  • Lead installations and service for intrusion, access control, CCTV, and intercom systems

  • Program and troubleshoot DSC, Kantech, and other major security platforms

  • Conduct system commissioning, testing, and client training

  • Mentor junior technicians and ensure quality standards

  • Document work (as-builts, service reports) and maintain professional workmanship

MUST-HAVES:

  • 3+ years in electronic security installation and service

  • Expert knowledge of Kantech access control and DSC alarm systems

  • Strong IP CCTV experience (NVRs, PoE switches, network configuration)

  • Valid Ontario G driver's licence with clean abstract

  • Ability to run jobs independently: site assessment, installation, programming, commissioning

  • Professional communication skills and customer-first approach

  • Comfortable with structured wiring (CAT5e/6) and basic electrical
