The NWS provides continuous aerospace surveillance to detect airborne threats in the northern region.

**What You’ll Do**

As an **Electronics Maintenance Technician / Trainer**, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and supporting advanced electronics systems and training technicians across the North Warning System. Your responsibilities include:

- Maintain and troubleshoot systems including:

- **Data/voice communications systems**:

- **Multiplexers and satellite/RF communications**:

- **AN/FPS-124 & AN/FPS-117 Radar systems**:

- **Router-based IP networks and SCADA systems**:

- **Encryption devices and helicopter monitoring systems**:

- Provide technical support to:

- Long Range Radar (LRR) Electronics Maintenance Technicians
- NWSCC Crew Technicians
- LCMM/Engineers
- Develop and update **technical training programs and materials**:

- Deliver training sessions (in-person, webinars, workshops)
- Analyze equipment failures and recommend corrective actions
- Support design changes to improve system efficiency and reduce operational costs
- Provide feedback on maintenance tasks and minor modifications

**Who You AreEducation**
- Postsecondary diploma in **electronics engineering**, **telecommunications**, or **Canadian Forces military equivalent**

**Certifications**
- **Standard First Aid with CPR Level A** (asset)
- **Valid Class G driver’s license** or provincial equivalent
- **Level II (Secret) Clearance** or eligibility to obtain one

**Experience**
- Minimum **2 years of hands-on experience**with:

- **Telecommunications systems**:

- **Radar and RF electronics**:

- **Satellite communications**:

- **IP networking and SCADA systems**:

- Experience in **technical training development** is an asset

**Skills & Knowledge**
- Strong understanding of:

- **RF, satellite, radar, and IP network systems**:

- **Telecommunications and SCADA systems**:

- Ability to read and interpret **technical drawings and schematics**:

- Proficiency with **diagnostic tools**, **oscilloscopes**, **signal generators**, and **electronic test equipment**
