About The Company:

Simpson Controls is a small BAS/controls contractor based in Langford. We design, install, and service Siemens-based DDC systems, HVAC controls, refrigeration controls, and integrated mechanical/electrical systems across Vancouver Island and BC. You'll work with a tight team, lots of autonomy, and get real exposure to controls — not just pulling wire.

Position Summary: Hands-on field role installing and servicing DDC/control systems in commercial and institutional buildings. Mix of electrical work, controls wiring, panel retrofits, cutovers, troubleshooting, and commissioning support. Work is mostly local with occasional out-of-town days. Some after-hours cutovers depending on the job.

Responsibilities

  • Install and wire DDC controllers, power supplies, actuators, sensors.
  • Retrofit/commission control panels during live cutovers.
  • Troubleshoot HVAC control systems, including BACnet networks.
  • Interpret electrical + mechanical drawings and BAS schematics.
  • Install conduit, cable tray, and low-voltage infrastructure.
  • Pull wire, label devices, and document field changes.
  • Work independently on customer sites and maintain a professional presence.
  • Follow company safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • Red Seal Electrician or Electrical Apprentice hours)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with computers and technology
  • Able to lift 50 lbs, use hand tools, climb ladders, and work overhead
  • Must possess a valid BC driver's license for a minimum of 1 year, with no prominent or frequent traffic violations included.
