We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Flat Deck Loader to join our team

Job Summary:

The Flatdeck Loader is responsible for efficiently and safely loading and securing LTL freight on flatdeck trailers using a forklift. This role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of load securement, and the ability to work in a fast-paced freight environment.

Work Schedule/Shift:

Monday-Friday; 14:00-22:30 with some overtime

Key Responsibilities

  • Load and unload freight onto flat deck trailers using a forklift.
  • Ensure freight is properly placed, balanced, and secured using appropriate tie-downs, tarps, straps, chains, or other securement equipment.
  • Verify shipment accuracy and check for damages or discrepancies.
  • Follow all company, customer, and regulatory safety standards.
  • Perform visual inspections of equipment and report any hazards or concerns.
  • Work closely with dispatch, drivers, and dock staff to meet loading schedules and service commitments.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
  • Complete all required paperwork and scanning as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1–2 years' experience loading flat decks in an LTL or freight environment (preferred).
  • Valid forklift certification
  • Strong understanding of load securement standards for flat deck freight.
  • Ability to read load diagrams, BOLs, and freight documentation.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
  • Physically able to lift/move freight as required.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Safety-first mindset.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $28.27/hour to start
