Responsibilities:
- Prioritize HS&E in workplace and new installations.
- Modify PLC programs, help plant in troubleshooting during downtime events. Experience with Modicon PLC preferred.
- Ability to work on plant level control systems (WW, Modicon, Unity etc.).
- Experience working with PLC hardware and software (Proworx NT and Unity Pro).
- Modify HMIs and SCADA programs (Wonderware, Red Lion etc.).
- Extensive knowledge of automation hardware.
- Lead electrical equipment and controls modifications, improvements and to be involved in ongoing projects.
- Basic knowledge of robot programming (Fanuc is preferable).
- Knowledge of Canadian/Ontario Electrical Code.
- Ability to organize and lead plant electrical installations.
- Lead electrical PMs.
- Read electrical drawings and do modifications (knowledge of AutoCad is preferable).
- Work with department budget and source best pricing from suppliers.
- Promote and participate in LEAN activities.
- Lead 2 HS&E Audit elements.
- Be in charge of the electrical equipment and internal power distribution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
- Five years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents and training materials such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills are required.
- Must have the ability to work with basic mathematical concepts, fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions in practical situations.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S, and Kaizen is a plus.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Experience as Electrical integrator is an asset.
