We are seeking an intermediate-level Application Engineer who enjoys technical problem solving, communicating clearly, and translating complex requirements into accurate, practical documentation. This role will appeal to an engineer who values variety, wants exposure to many real-world applications, and enjoys bringing clarity to technical projects.

Position Overview

This position combines application engineering with a strong emphasis on technical documentation, specification development, and product onboarding. You will work closely with customers in North America to understand their requirements, prepare high-quality documentation and application materials, and review designs to ensure they meet real-world needs.

Hands-on testing and design review remain part of the role, but the core responsibilities revolve around:

• producing accurate technical materials,
• supporting application decisions,
• managing quality, compliance, and product certifications,
• coordinating with engineering teams, and
• ensuring that products are properly documented, specified, and ready for use.

This is a solid fit for an engineer who communicates well, writes clearly, and wants a stable and diverse technical role without being limited to a single narrow product area.

Key Responsibilities

Documentation & Product Specification (Primary Focus)

• Develop and maintain clear technical documentation, application guides, datasheets, user instructions, and installation notes.
• Translate customer requirements into detailed specifications and supporting materials.
• Review existing documentation for accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
• Prepare technical materials for new product onboarding, including spec sheets, configuration guides, drawings, and QA checklists.
• Support compliance and certification processes by preparing or coordinating documentation packages.

Application Engineering

• Provide technical support to customers and internal teams across North America, answering inquiries and recommending suitable load cells, sensors, and electronics.
• Review application scenarios and verify whether proposed mechanical or electrical designs meet customer needs and constraints.
• Prepare or revise drawings (AutoCAD/SolidWorks) based on customer requirements.
• Assist with diagnosing application or installation issues and proposing practical solutions.

Product Development Support

• Support product onboarding activities from gathering requirements to coordinating engineering feedback, and documenting design changes.
• Contribute to internal reviews on feasibility, specification accuracy, and product readiness.
• Participate in small hands-on validation tests and inspection as needed to verify product fit for purpose.

Customer-Facing Engineering

• Prepare technical presentations, application notes, and proposal materials for sales and marketing teams.
• Provide training sessions or demos to customers on sensor selection, installation methods, or product usage.
• Represent ANYLOAD at North American trade shows and events on occasion.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant engineering experience (applications, technical support, product documentation, or related).
• Strong technical writing skills and the ability to produce clear, structured, and accurate documentation.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks for drawing review and preparation.
• Solid understanding of mechanical principles; exposure to sensors, instrumentation, or industrial equipment is an asset.
• Comfortable with occasional hands-on testing or product evaluation.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills; able to explain concepts clearly to customers and internal teams.
• Ability to work effectively with both BC-based staff and colleagues in other North American locations.
• Willingness to travel intermittently within North America and sometimes globally for training, events, or customer visits.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $80,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
