The Role

As a key member of our team the Laundry Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the collection, sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distribution of hotel linens, ensuring cleanliness, availability, and quality standards are maintained. This role ensures all linen-related operations are running smoothly, maintains the general cleanliness of the laundry area and equipment, and supports the Laundry Attendants in their daily tasks.

Your contributions to the team include:

  • Supervise the collection, sorting, washing, drying, folding, distribution, and stocking of hotel linens to maintain cleanliness and availability.
  • Oversee the removal of soiled linens from guestrooms or room attendant carts, ensuring items are properly separated and placed in the designated linen bins.
  • Ensure timely delivery and placement of empty linen bins in service areas and prompt delivery of requested linens throughout the day.
  • Ensure cleanliness of laundry equipment and work areas, and assist with linen inventory counts.
  • Communicate effectively with the Housekeeping Supervisor and Manager regarding linen shortages on the floors.
  • Perform and oversee minor sewing duties/repairs as required.
  • Monitor and oversee inventory control of linens, cleaning supplies, and equipment.
  • Check and maintain the chemical injection system, performing minor maintenance within the laundry area as needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of chemicals, cleaning products, and correct handling procedures, ensuring team compliance.
  • Track and report required equipment maintenance promptly.
  • Report any maintenance or health and safety issues promptly.
  • Report equipment damage promptly to the Housekeeping Supervisor and Manager.
  • Assist in training, scheduling, and supporting Laundry Attendants in daily operations.
  • Lead the laundry team, ensuring productivity, efficiency, and a positive work environment.
  • Manage laundry-related costs, including staff wages and operational costs.
  • Oversee the distribution, tracking, and maintenance of staff uniforms, ensuring availability and proper usage.
  • Additional tasks and duties as assigned.

A few things we are looking for in a new team member:

  • 1+ year housekeeping and laundry experience.
  • Supervisor or team lead experience.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with compact timeframes.
  • Strong organizational skills and high energy levels.
  • Capability to assess a situation for danger or safety issues and act accordingly.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to follow and give directions accurately and efficiently.
  • Experience with industrial cleaning equipment and products.
  • Physically able to reach, stretch, bend, and walk for an extended period.
  • Ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
