Overview:
We are looking for a talented and detail-oriented Interior Designer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing interior spaces for residential low-rise and mid-rise projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design Development: Assist in the development of interior design concepts and plans for residential projects with the ability to create detailed drawings and layouts, ensuring compliance with Canadian design standards.
- Material Selection: Assist in the selection of appropriate materials, finishes, and furnishings that align with the design vision and budget constraints. Coordinate with suppliers for material samples and approvals.
- Customer Consultation: Work closely with the Sales team and homebuyers to understand specific design preferences and upgrade requests. Provide guidance and recommendations on materials, finishes, and design options, ensuring alignment with project scope.
- Collaboration with Consultants: Assist in coordinating design elements with architects and other third-party design consultants. Ensure that design solutions are integrated with overall project plans.
- Support During Construction: Collaborate with the Construction team to address any design-related issues during project execution. Ensure that the design intent is maintained throughout the construction process.
- On-site Participation: Visit project sites to monitor progress and ensure that interior design specifications are being followed. Assist in coordinating material selection with homebuyers at the Decor Center.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in interior design, architecture, or a related field. Professional certification is an asset.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in interior design, with a focus on residential projects. Familiarity with international material procurement is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in industry-standard design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite) and knowledge of applicable Canadian Building Codes and interior design regulations is essential.
- Collaboration & Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team environment. Capable of working with diverse stakeholders, including suppliers, contractors, and homebuyers.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to manage multiple tasks, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail in design plans and customer documentation.
- Customer-Focused: A strong focus on customer satisfaction, with the ability to deliver design solutions that meet or exceed expectations.
- Language: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Mandarin is an asset
