As a social worker at Brainworks, you will be providing treatment to all age groups and for a variety of referral sources, which allows us the ability to provide diversity in day-to-day practice. Collaboration with and consultation to a team of professionals is integral to the work we do. Clinical, administrative, and IT support is on hand for all team members.

What do you need to be successful?

  • You have a master's degree in social work with a minimum of 2 years clinical experience or a bachelor's degree in social work with a minimum of 4 years clinical experience
  • You are a member in good standing with the College of OCSWSSW
  • Being a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers is considered an asset
  • We are looking for social workers who are versed in and/or interested in developing competency in couples' counselling
  • Experience with brain injury, PTSD, and / or pain management is a definite asset
  • You are client-centered and enjoy collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
  • Candidates must be able to work as part of a team, as well as work well independently
  • You have strong verbal/written communication skills and have the ability to work with different personalities
  • You use good judgment and apply critical thinking when making client decisions
  • Candidates need to be highly motivated, care about the people we serve, and be equally able to follow direction and blaze a path
  • You have demonstrated commitment to post-graduate professional development
  • A working knowledge of Ontario's insurance-funded treatment systems would be an asset
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is considered an asset
  • Hospital and/or pediatric experience is considered an asset
