Rockscapes designs and builds large-scale artificial rockwork, zoo habitats, museum exhibits, and custom sculptural environments across North America. We are expanding our large-format 3D printing and digital fabrication workflow and are looking for a specialist who can translate organic concepts into build-ready, print-ready geometry.

This is not a rendering role. This is a fabrication-first position.

What You'll Do


• Translate SketchUp, Blender, Nomad, and concept models into clean, buildable geometry


• Prepare print-ready files for large-format FDM printers (up to 1m x 1m)


• Segment large parts logically for printing, transport, and installation


• Design connection details, seams, registration features, and tolerances


• Support shop drawings by preparing:


• Sections


• Anchor locations


• DWG/DXF exports for stamping engineers and drafters


• Collaborate with our fabrication and installation teams to ensure models reflect real-world build logic


• Help develop repeatable modular systems (vines, panels, habitat elements)

Required Skills


• Strong proficiency in Blender (solid modeling, booleans, cleanup, topology)


• Working knowledge of SketchUp


• Practical CAD experience (AutoCAD, DraftSight, Fusion 360, Rhino, or similar)


• Experience preparing models for 3D printing (wall thickness, segmentation, tolerances)


• Ability to think through how parts are:


• Printed


• Lifted


• Anchored


• Installed on site
