Position Overview

A Home for Hooves Farm Sanctuary Foundation (AHFH) is seeking a dedicated, experienced Non-Profit Fundraising & Development Consultant to lead and strengthen the organization's fundraising capacity, donor engagement, marketing efforts, and long-term financial sustainability.

This is a full-time, sole-focus role funded through restricted support from a private Foundation. The consultant will work closely with A Home for Hooves leadership and report directly to the Executive Director. The primary objective is to significantly grow AHFH's funding base and establish sustainable recurring revenue streams for 2026 and beyond.

Key ResponsibilitiesFundraising & Development

  • Design and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with A Home for Hooves mission and growth goals
  • Establish and advance new recurring funding streams
  • Strengthen individual donor programs, major gifts, and donor stewardship
  • Support grant strategy and development as appropriate
  • Set clear fundraising goals and track progress toward outcomes

Donor Engagement & Stewardship

  • Improve donor acquisition, retention, and engagement practices
  • Develop systems and messaging for donor communications and reporting
  • Build long-term relationships with supporters and major donors

Marketing & Communications

  • Provide strategic direction and hands-on support for marketing initiatives
  • Oversee or contribute to website improvements and digital fundraising efforts
  • Strengthen social media presence and storytelling to support fundraising goals

Strategic Growth & Sustainability

  • Contribute to long-term organizational planning and financial sustainability
  • Provide strategic input on organizational direction and growth opportunities
  • Collaborate with leadership and the Board as needed

Reporting & Accountability

  • Maintain regular communication with the Executive Director
  • Prepare quarterly progress reports for A Home for Hooves leadership, Board of Directors, and major funders
  • Report on fundraising performance, donor engagement outcomes, and marketing milestones

Fundraising Goals

  • Build sustainable, recurring funding streams for 2026 and beyond
  • At minimum, double A Home for Hooves current annual funding base within one year
  • Ideally, position the organization to triple its funding base, creating long-term financial stability

Qualifications & ExperienceRequired

  • Demonstrated expertise in non-profit fundraising and development
  • Proven track record of achieving measurable fundraising growth
  • Strong strategic thinking and professional judgment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, remotely, and with high accountability
  • Highly responsive, organized, and results-focused

Preferred

  • Experience working with small-to-midsize non-profit organizations
  • Experience overseeing digital fundraising campaigns and marketing initiatives
  • Familiarity with donor management systems and fundraising analytics

Performance Review & Term

  • Initial 6-month contract
  • Formal performance review at 6 months
  • A Home for Hooves may extend the contract for an additional 6 months based on performance and organizational priorities

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: Up to $80,000.00 per year
