Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC programming, mechanical knowledge, and experience with various manufacturing processes. This role involves designing, programming, and optimizing CNC machines to produce precise components, ensuring efficiency and quality in production. Candidates should be familiar with Mazak controls, CAD software like SolidWorks, Mastercam and blueprint reading. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about machining and manufacturing technology to contribute to high-quality production operations.
Duties
- Develop and write CNC programs for milling machines and other CNC equipment using CAD/CAM software.
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines ensuring accurate machining according to blueprints and specifications.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to determine machining requirements.
- Perform machine calibration, tool selection, and adjustments to optimize machining processes.
- Conduct quality checks using calipers, micrometers, and other hand tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams on process improvements following lean manufacturing principles.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with CNC programming and operation of CNC milling machines.
- Proficiency in Mazak controls; experience with other CNC control systems is a plus.
- Strong skills in CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar programs; ability to read blueprints accurately.
- Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, feeds, speeds, and tolerances.
- Knowledge of calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency and waste reduction.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is ideal for individuals committed to precision machining and continuous improvement within a dynamic manufacturing setting.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.12-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Mississauga, ON L4W 2R4
