Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cook with experience working in retirement homes or long-term care facilities. The successful candidate will prepare nutritious meals for residents, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with dietary requirements.

What you'll do:

  • Prepare and cook meals according to menus and dietary restrictions for residents
  • Ensure all food is stored, handled, and served safely following hygiene standards
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces
  • Collaborate with dietary and care staff to meet resident needs and preferences
  • Monitor inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed
  • Follow all policies and procedures of the facility

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a cook in a retirement home or long-term care facility
  • Knowledge of dietary restrictions and nutritional needs for seniors
  • Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Red Seal Certification (nice to have)
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, preferably weekend shifts
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
