Business Intelligence Analyst

Visionpool Business Services is hiring a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst who will connect business needs with data capabilities, ensuring that the analytical approach of a project or initiative aligns with the organization's goals. Business Intelligence Analysts will offer stakeholder management, data planning, business capability development, and road mapping, as well as high-quality and efficient analytical services. THIS IS LOCATED ON SITE IN REGINA SASKATCHEWAN.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 10 years experience, within the last 15 years working with modern data management principles, in a Business Intelligence Analyst.
• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science / Engineering, Data Sciences.

Technical Qualifications:

• SQL Expertise: The ability to write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction and manipulation is crucial. Additionally, the analyst should be able to create and maintain reporting and SQL scripts.
• Power BI and Business Intelligence Tools: Extensive experience with Power BI and other business intelligence reporting environments is required. This includes strong knowledge of Power Query and DAX within the Power BI environment.
• Cloud Expertise: Proficiency in cloud services such as Power BI Service, Microsoft Azure, and Databricks is necessary.
• Lakehouse Architecture and Delta Format: Knowledge of Lakehouse architecture and Delta format is important for managing and analyzing large datasets.
• Insight into Reporting Needs: The analyst should provide insights into the changing reporting needs and requirements of the company and offer suggestions for technical solutions.
• Data Analysis: The ability to analyze complex datasets and derive meaningful insights is essential for making informed business decisions.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Strong logical and problem-solving skills are required to address data related challenges effectively.
• Reporting Integration and Visualization: The analyst will oversee the integration and visualization of data from legacy and on-premises systems to new solutions.
• Content and Data Management: Experience with content management and data management programs and governance are necessary.
• Star Schema and Analytical Data Models: Knowledge of star schema and analytical data models is important for structuring data efficiently.
• Compliance and Security Standards: Familiarity with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act and industry security standards is required to ensure compliance and data security.

Relevant Skills:

• Expert level communication (ability to communicate and present effectively, create effective tailored content).
• Experience working closely with the stakeholders to guide them from start to finish through the solutioning process and into final delivery.
• Experience designing and implementing technology solutions that enable an organization to achieve its digital transformation goals.
• Experience with data architectural methodologies application.
• Experience in identify potential technical risks and devise strategies to mitigate them, ensuring the success of projects.

• Canadian federal, provincial, municipal government or similar work experience.

• Communicating and Presenting Effectively: The Business Intelligence Analyst must be an expert communicator, capable of presenting complex information in a clear and tailored manner to various audiences.

• Guiding Business Solutions: The role involves working closely with the Business Units to guide them through the entire solutioning process, from initial concept to final delivery.
• Designing and Implementing Technology Solutions: The analyst will design and implement technology solutions that support the digital transformation goals.
• Applying Data Architectural Methodologies: Experience with data architectural methodologies is essential to ensure the integrity and efficiency of data systems.
• Identifying and Mitigating Technical Risks: The analyst will identify potential technical risks and devise strategies to mitigate them, ensuring the success of projects.
