We are looking for a passionate individual excited about joining our team as a Planner II or Planner I. This position can be filled by a candidate with either Planner I or II abilities.

Nature and Scope of Work:

Planner II – Step 1 Rate: $44.58 per Hour.

Performs skilled technical and policy planning work of a relatively complex nature under the limited supervision of the Director of Planning & Community Services. Work includes application analysis and report writing, positive communication with the public and development industry, liaising with other departments; preparation of reports; implementation and interpretation of the Official Community Plan, Zoning and Subdivision / Development Bylaws, and other related functions. The work is performed under the general supervision of the Senior Planner, Manager of Planning & Building and Director of Planning & Community Services.

Planner I – Step 1 Rate: $41.83 per Hour.

Performs planning and regulatory work under the supervision of the Director of Planning & Community Services. Work includes email, counter and telephone inquiries, research, review, processing, and coordinating of applications. This position applies interpretation of the Official Community Plan, Zoning Bylaw and relevant City policies when processing applications. The work is performed under the direct supervision of the Director of Planning & Community Services and Manager of Planning and Building who reviews all written reports and conducts periodic checks for technical accuracy and conformance with department procedures.
