Position Overview
The Sous Chef is the Chef de Cuisines right hand and a pivotal leader of the kitchen brigade. This role requires mastery of culinary technique, precision in execution, and the ability to lead, inspire, and mentor a team of professionals. The ideal candidate is a consummate chef, balancing artistry, operational excellence, and a commitment to delivering memorable dining experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead kitchen operations with precision, ensuring flawless execution and timing across all stations.
- Execute signature and seasonal dishes to the highest standards, including refined plating and flavor balance.
- Mentor, coach, and inspire line cooks and chef de parties to achieve excellence, consistency, and growth.
- Collaborate with the CDC on menu conception, innovation, and refinement, maintaining a seasonal and technique-driven philosophy.
- Oversee inventory, sourcing, and quality control, ensuring optimal efficiency and minimal waste.
- Enforce the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and professional kitchen protocols.
- Manage kitchen workflow during service with poise, ensuring coordination, timing, and seamless delivery of dishes.
- Participate in tastings, quality audits, and recipe development with precision and attention to detail.
- Cultivate a culture of discipline, professionalism, and respect in the brigade.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in fine dining, Michelin-inspired, or high-end culinary environments; prior Sous Chef experience required.
- Mastery of modern and classical culinary techniques, advanced plating, and flavor development.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to perform under high-pressure, detail-oriented service conditions.
