Sonbuilt Custom Homes Ltd. is looking for a motivated individual to support our company across operations, safety management, and business development. This role will work closely with the company president to strengthen daily operations, improve systems, and ensure our office, shop, and job sites run smoothly.
This position is ideal for someone who's strategic yet hands-on, enjoys learning, communicates with confidence, and is excited about contributing to a growing company with long-term leadership potential.
What You'll Do
Operations and Leadership
Support the company president with daily operational oversight and decision making.
Assist with human resources activities including training recommendations, tracking certifications, and supporting apprentices.
Oversee office, shop, and warehouse accessibility and organization.
Work with Financial Officer on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow review, and inventory pricing.
Help create systems that support organizational efficiency and long-term planning.
Construction Safety Officer Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and oversee company-wide safety policies and procedures.
Train staff and trades on equipment use, safety standards, and new worker onboarding.
Conduct site inspections, monitor safety compliance, and maintain accurate reporting.
Lead bi-weekly safety meetings and coordinate incident investigations.
Manage WorkSafeBC correspondence, NOP submissions, documentation, and compliance.
Construction Operations
Support onsite activities as needed – everything from material procurement to light site tasks.
Manage sub-trade and supplier contracts, fleet maintenance, and equipment tracking.
Provide direction to staff, sub-trades, and junior office personnel.
Sales and Business Development
Drive sales growth through strategic sales planning.
Build meaningful relationships with builders, homeowners, and industry partners.
Conduct product training, prepare proposals, and negotiate deals.
Represent the company at trade shows, networking events, and industry conferences.
Utilize CRM tools to manage leads.
Lead by example in sales discipline – prospecting, follow-up, customer care, and relationship building.

Our ideal candidate with have:
Experience in residential construction operations or project management.
Knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations and/or willingness to train as a CSO.
Experience in sales, business development, or client relations.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Comfort with both office and field environments.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
