Senior Strategic Manager, Accounts

Our client is a rapidly growing, values-driven industrial services organization delivering electrical, instrumentation, automation, commissioning, completions, and integrated construction solutions across Canada. They partner with energy, mining, and industrial operators who demand elevated standards, disciplined execution, and trusted long-term partnerships. Their five-year strategic plan targets transformational growth, diversification of service offerings, and expansion into larger enterprise client relationships. This role is central to delivering that vision.

The Senior Strategic Manager, Accounts is responsible for developing, expanding, and stewarding critical enterprise client relationships. This leader will own the design and execution of strategic account growth plans, uncover and map complex client stakeholder networks, and drive multi-year revenue growth across large Tier 1 accounts.

This role sits on the senior leadership team and serves as a bridge between executive-level client relationships and internal operational alignment, ensuring that strategic pursuits convert into disciplined, profitable, and scalable execution. This is not a transactional sales role. It is a long-cycle, enterprise-level strategic leadership position responsible for shaping the companies future client portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Account Leadership

  • Own and execute multi-year strategic growth plans for the companies most important enterprise clients
  • Build deep executive-level relationships with client leadership, engineering, operations, supply chain, and capital project stakeholders. Develop and maintain comprehensive "player maps" across client organizations to understand influence, decision authority, and buying dynamics
  • Proactively identify upcoming capital programs, long-term maintenance strategies, and bundled service opportunities

Complex Sales Execution

  • Lead complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles involving engineering, operations, procurement, finance, and executive leadership
  • Structure strategic account plans that integrate maintenance, construction, automation, commissioning, and completions service lines
  • Drive long-term MSAs, alliance models, and multi-year service frameworks
  • Position as a strategic partner as a strategic partner, not a vendor

Internal Alignment & Leadership

  • Gain internal stakeholder buy-in and align operations, project execution, safety, quality, and workforce planning to account strategies
  • Partner with branch leaders, operations managers, and service line leaders to ensure pursuit strategies are executable and profitable
  • Serve as a strategic voice in senior leadership meetings
  • Contribute to corporate strategy, growth priorities, and long-term planning initiatives

Thought Leadership & Brand Representation

  • Act as a thought leader and ambassador for the company within client organizations and the broader industrial marketplace
  • Represent the company at executive forums, client strategy sessions, and industry events
  • Model and reinforce the Core Values:
Quality, Transparency, Integrity, Collaboration, and Community

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of proven success managing and growing large enterprise client accounts in industrial construction, maintenance, or energy / industrial services
  • Minimum 10 years of technical or industry experience within industrial environments
  • Demonstrated success closing complex, multi-layered sales cycles with Tier 1 organizations
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic account growth plans
  • Strong experience building and navigating stakeholder "player maps"
  • High familiarity with one or more of the following disciplines:
  • Electrical & Instrumentation
  • Automation & Controls
  • Commissioning & Completions
  • Mechanical & Fabrication
  • Pipeline & Facility Construction / Maintenance
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen (contract structures, MSAs, long-term frameworks)
  • Exceptional executive-level communication and relationship-building capability

Leadership Attributes & Cultural Fit

  • High alignment with Core Values
  • Strategic thinker with disciplined execution mindset
  • Trusted advisor presence with clients and internal leaders
  • High accountability, integrity, and ownership mentality
  • Comfortable operating at executive, operational, and field levels
  • Viewed as a coach, connector, and growth catalyst

Why This Role Matters

This role will directly influence the companies ability to:

  • Secure and grow Tier 1 strategic clients
  • Expand into bundled and integrated service offerings
  • Execute our five-year strategic growth plan
  • Shape the companies market reputation as a premier strategic industrial partner
