Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Wheelchair Technician / Equipment Specialist who can support both technical repairs and customer-facing responsibilities. This role combines equipment repair, deliveries, set-ups, wheelchair assessments, and general warehouse tasks. Ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, comfortable working directly with clients and therapists, and able to represent our company professionally in the field.

Key Responsibilities


• Assess, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain manual and powered wheelchairs


• Perform diagnostics and part replacements on mobility equipment


• Complete wheelchair assessments jointly with occupational therapists and physiotherapists to determine proper seating, sizing, and configuration


• Deliver and set up medical equipment (hospital beds, lift chairs, wheelchairs, mobility aids) in homes, retirement residences, and facilities


• Educate clients and caregivers on safe and proper equipment use


• Ensure a clean, organized warehouse and accurately track equipment inventory


• Assist with shipping, receiving, staging orders, and general warehouse duties


• Support in-store customers and provide product recommendations when needed


• Maintain clear communication with the office team regarding service calls, repairs, and deliveries


• Represent the company professionally during all customer interactions

Qualifications


• Previous experience with wheelchair repair, mobility equipment service, or DME (Durable Medical Equipment) required or strongly preferred


• Experience completing wheelchair assessments or seating evaluations with therapists is an asset


• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair equipment independently


• Comfort with physical work, lifting, and home/facility deliveries


• Valid G-class driver's license with a clean driving record


• Strong communication and customer service skills


• Reliable, organized, and able to manage time effectively


• Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team


• Experience in a customer-facing service role is an asset
