About The Opportunity
Nova Scotia Health is pleased to offer a unique paid internship opportunity through the One Person One Record (OPOR) RIA Internship Program, designed for recent graduates of studies and soon to be graduates, in healthcare management, clinical systems, data analytics, education and related disciplines. Interns will be embedded directly into the OPOR team to support the provincial implementation of a new Clinical Information System (CIS), a transformative initiative that will unify health records across Nova Scotia.
Interns will gain hands-on experience in digital health transformation by contributing to operational planning, data quality improvement, frontline support (At The Elbow), workflow optimization, and organizational readiness activities.
The Program Is Structured Around Three Cohorts
- Cohort B - 300 positions for 10.5 months, February 2, December 26, 2026
All cohorts will have the possibility of extensions
Participants will work under the guidance of OPOR leadership and stream leads, receive targeted onboarding, and contribute meaningfully to one of the largest healthcare modernization projects in Canada.
Intern work schedules will vary across the pre-Go-Live, hyperphase, and post-Go-Live periods to align with operational demands. During the pre-Go-Live phase, interns will follow a schedule focused on onboarding, training, and project preparation activities which could involve evening and weekend shifts for classroom support.. In the hyperphase, interns transition to a full-time clinical support schedule, which may include daytime, evening, nights, and weekend shifts to provide real-time At The Elbow (ATE) support during the CIS Go-Live. Following Go-Live, in the post-hyperphase period, schedules will revert to Pre Go Live for classroom support and readiness activities for the next Go Live.
