Job Description: Conducts routine and non-routine analysis of raw materials and in-process and finished formulations according to standard operating procedures. Performs analyses, including biochemical and/or chemical analyses of products, analysis of raw materials, in-process items and finished products to ensure stability according to established operating procedures. Compiles data for documentation of test procedures that may include biochemical and chemical assays, stability program testing and formulation studies. Calibrates and maintains lab equipment. Participates in the preparation of investigations, summaries and reports. May develop testing methods. Reviews data obtained for compliance to specifications and reports abnormalities. Revises and updates standard operating procedures as needed. May perform special projects on analytical and instrument problem-solving. Additional: Typically, career level role with deep experience and full understanding of area of specialization. Strong working knowledge of other related fields and is able to apply that knowledge to area of responsibility, as applicable. Applies substantial technical knowledge to diverse assignments of increased breadth and complexity. Plans, coordinates, and prioritizes work projects and resources with minimal direction. Contributes to the development of new projects/programs/processes. Expected to be able to resolve more complex and unique issues in broad area of responsibility; determines and modifies methods and approaches to find solutions. Expected to operate and work independently; receives minimal guidance and generally only on the most complex issues; consults on issues as needed or requested. May train, or mentor others. Leads projects requiring representation of the organization to internal and/or external customers or others, providing expertise and promoting solutions. Demonstrates increasing thought leadership; experienced resource sought out internally for consultation on area of specialization. Minimum Education / Experience Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent. Post-graduate, certification and/or license may be required. Typically, at least 4 years relevant experience for entry into this level.
