WE ARE HIRING "Vehicle Operations (Wolverton Compound) Supervisor"
Position Summary
As the Vehicle Operations (Wolverton Compound) Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing daily yard and carrier operations at the WOL Wolverton site. This includes ensuring yard operators receive spot assignments for railcar unloading, carriers receive releases, deliveries align with the plan, and shortfalls are recovered. You will maintain accurate trucking allocations in the GCI ATLAS system, track and trace vehicle movements, and ensure GMC HACC and KCA wholesale targets are met for the Central Zone/Region. Additional duties include monitoring exceptions (non-runners, damages, tows), attending safety meetings and inspections, resolving operational issues, submitting invoices, and managing the budget.
Responsibilities
[Primary Duties]
- Carrier Management: Monitor releases, dwell times, and delivery performance. Track logistics trends and recommend operational adjustments. Evaluate scorecards, contracts, rates, and manage claims.
- Team Management: Oversee daily operations, ensure employee productivity, monitor process efficiency, enforce compliance with procedures, and maintain a positive work environment for the team members.
- Reporting: Provide up-to-date information to upper management on performance, challenges, issues, changes, and improvements.
- Travel Requirements: This role will be primarily based on-site at the CPKC Railway Wolverton Yard (N0B 1E0), with occasional visits to the Mississauga Head Office (L5B 3C3) as required.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, negotiating terms, rates, and contracts.
- Manage the GCI ATLAS system to ensure data integrity.
- Oversee the unit's growth needs, including recruitment and onboarding.
Education / Certification / License
- A college diploma is required.
- A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics operations required; 4-5 years preferred.
- Extensive experience in the logistics or automotive industry is highly desirable.
- Preference for candidates with experience in automotive manufacturing and/or finished vehicle logistics, including auto carriers and compounds.
Competencies
- Professional working proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Leadership, collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel within and outside of the province.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take initiative to complete tasks proactively.
