With multidisciplinary expertise spanning environmental assessment, permitting, and regulatory compliance, this organization supports critical infrastructure, resource, and community-based projects across Canada.

They are currently seeking a
Senior Environmental Planner
to join their
Assessment & Permitting team
, supporting
Provincial and Federal Environmental Impact Assessments
in a collaborative, hybrid work environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and implement Provincial and Federal Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA/IA) and permitting processes
  • Manage project components and deliverables for environmental assessments across multiple sectors
  • Prepare and coordinate proposals, technical reports, and regulatory documentation
  • Conduct desktop studies to support permitting and regulatory approvals
  • Develop and implement stakeholder and public consultation programs
  • Liaise with clients, regulatory agencies, Indigenous communities, internal teams, and the public
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals across Canada
  • Support business development by maintaining and expanding client relationships
  • Participate in client meetings, industry associations, and professional forums
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members within the Assessment & Permitting group

What You Bring:

Education & Experience

  • Degree or post-graduate diploma in Environmental Planning, Environmental Studies, or a related discipline
  • 6–8+ years
    of experience in environmental program and project development and management
  • Strong experience with environmental impact assessments, including Federal IA, Class EA, TPAP, and/or Ontario Energy Board / Canada Energy Regulator processes
  • Experience supporting renewable energy projects is considered an asset

Core Skills

  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent technical writing, communication, and stakeholder engagement abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced consulting environment
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and solutions-focused
  • Willingness to travel regionally as required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Training in environmental assessment programs
  • Professional designation or membership (OPPI, OAIA, ECO Canada – EP)
  • Consulting experience in environmental impact assessments
  • Experience with Indigenous and community consultation
  • Familiarity with project financing and regulatory approvals
  • Experience mentoring junior staff and contributing to strategic planning and RFP development
