Senior Environmental Planner – Environmental Impact Assessment

We are partnering with a leading environmental consulting organization to hire a
Senior Environmental Planner
to join their
Assessment & Permitting team
. This role focuses on
Provincial and Federal Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA)
across a diverse portfolio of projects, including
infrastructure, mining, industrial, renewable energy, and community developments
.

This is a
hybrid role
, with flexibility to work from several offices across Ontario, and offers the opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on high-impact projects that support communities and sustainable development.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead and support
    Provincial and Federal Environmental Impact Assessments
    and permitting activities
  • Manage project tasks, schedules, and deliverables to ensure quality, budget, and timeline targets
  • Prepare and coordinate
    technical reports, proposals, and regulatory documentation
  • Conduct desktop studies to support environmental and regulatory requirements
  • Lead and support
    stakeholder and community consultation programs
    , including engagement with Indigenous communities
  • Liaise with clients, regulators, internal teams, and the public
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to team growth and project delivery excellence

What We're Looking For

  • Degree or diploma in
    Environmental Planning, Environmental Studies
    , or a related field
  • 6–8+ years
    of experience in environmental planning, impact assessment, and permitting
  • Strong experience with
    Federal and Provincial EIA processes
    (e.g., Federal IA, Class EA, TPAP, CER/OEB)
  • Proven project management and technical writing skills
  • Consulting experience and stakeholder engagement experience strongly preferred
  • Professional designations (e.g., OPPI, ECO Canada EP) considered an asset
