Job Profile:

ASB Greenworld Ltd has an opening for an Operator- Technician at our manufacturing site in Metcalfe, Ontario (Ottawa Region). The successful applicant will be primarily responsible and for operation of the plant equipment plus carrying out service and repair activities to the mixing and packaging line as well as basic service to mobile equipment.

Job description

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Working alongside plant operators and the plant supervisor the candidate will be required to set-up and run machines during shifts.
  • Trouble shooting and advanced operation of the equipment.
  • Basic Upkeep of the machines including adjustments ,minor repairs
  • Maintain Preventative maintenance schedules and inspections, including lube and oil.
  • Keep downtime low with a proactive and logical approach.
  • Executing general labour tasks within the facility as needed, such as hanging signs, moving of items, minor office repairs.
  • Demonstrate good housekeeping and organization practices to help maintain a safe work area.
  • Participate in monthly planning meetings.
  • Participate with equipment installations and plans.

Required:

  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be legally entitled to work for ASB Greenworld Ltd. in Canada
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as an operator/operator technician in an industrial setting.
  • Practical production facility maintenance experience.
  • A strong knowledge of preventative maintenance, mechanical/electrical systems, and quality control systems.
  • Must be able to perform physical job duties such as bending, lifting to 50 lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safety, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to able to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work without direct supervision.
  • Previous Forklift and Other Mobile Equipment Experience.

Preferred:

  • Recognized Millwright License.
  • Ability to demonstrate high performance (work performance, attendance record, safety record, etc.)
  • Experience in similar industry or processes.
  • PLC experience
  • Demonstrated skills in any or all of the following areas would be considered a strong asset: mechanical or electrical work and service, light carpentry, plumbing, painting and equipment maintenance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.72-$25.00 per hour
