Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of total experience in mechanical design and building systems, including at least 3 years of hands-on experience in Canada. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in
HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems for residential and commercial buildings, particularly high-rise developments.
This role requires a professional who can take ownership of mechanical design deliverables, coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure compliance with local building codes and standards.

Responsibilities
- Design and coordinate mechanical systems
(HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection)
for residential and commercial developments. - Prepare and review mechanical drawings, specifications, and calculations in compliance with the Ontario Building Code and relevant standards.
- Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other design team members to ensure integrated building design solutions.
- Participate in the building permit process, including preparation of mechanical documentation for submission.
- Conduct on-site inspections and coordination with trades, contractors, and consultants during construction.
- Perform load calculations, equipment selection, and system layouts for mechanical components.
- Support project managers and senior engineers in ensuring deliverables meet project timelines and quality expectations.
- Maintain organized records and documentation throughout all project phases.
- Ensure adherence to company design standards, client requirements, and regulatory compliance.
Experience
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field (P.Eng. designation or eligibility preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience, including at least 3 years in Canada working on building projects.
- Proven experience with HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems design for mid-rise and high-rise buildings.
- Strong knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, ASHRAE standards, and local permit requirements.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit (MEP experience preferred); familiarity with energy modeling or simulation software is an asset.
- Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a high level of attention to detail.
