Reporting to the Head, Credit Risk and Fiscal Impact, the
Director, Credit Risk
, will focus on infrastructure and corporate/hybrid project finance credit risk assessment, including revenue risk, availability-based infrastructure financing models and corporate-style financing supporting discrete infrastructure projects. The Director, Credit Risk, is responsible for reviewing transaction documentation and financial models, ensuring robust credit risk assessments across infrastructure and corporate/hybrid project finance.
The Director, Credit Risk, requires a strategic mindset and the ability to influence investment decisions at every stage, from intake to financial close and ongoing monitoring. Your oversight will help to shape and evaluate the risk profile of major infrastructure investments, while your cross-functional collaboration will ensure alignment across the organization.
Your responsibilities:
- Review internal and external transaction documentation and financial models to perform credit risk assessments on individual investments
- Perform and/or review independent scenario and sensitivity analysis, including PPP and infrastructure transactions subject to revenue risk
- Provide recommendations on risk mitigation strategies, demonstrating accountability and the ability to make informed, high-impact decisions in the assessment of a diverse range of infrastructure investments, including traditional debt, project equity, and equity-like projects
- Supervise and mentor Associates, Credit Risk, including providing ongoing training, performance feedback and fostering a positive, supportive work environment; the Director, Credit Risk, is expected to actively develop junior team members, demonstrating a commitment to talent growth and team cohesion
- Review accuracy and completeness of annual reviews and their related internal risk rating appropriateness
- Report on credit-related information to the Head, Credit Risk and Fiscal Impact, on a regular basis with respect to the investments portfolio and any market or sector developments impacting the portfolio
- Maintain deep knowledge of industry dynamics, trends and global infrastructure financing models. Staying ahead of market developments and sharing insights positions the Director, Credit Risk, as a thought leader within the organization
- Liaise with the investments team and other areas of the CIB including finance and accounting, as required, with respect to the investment portfolio from the risk perspective
Your ideal profile:
- Degree in finance, accounting, economics or equivalent experience; CFA, MBA, highly desirable
- Minimum 7–10 years of credit analysis experience, ideally at a bank, regulated institution or MDB/IFIs
- Demonstrated leadership of working across departments, facilitating communication and collaboration to support organizational goals
- Experience with infrastructure asset class, PPPs, project finance, preferably in any of the CIB's priority sectors
- Expertise in lending, investments and risk assessment demonstrating market best practices
- Experience in credit risk rating methodologies, including infrastructure and project finance
- Strong analytical skills and ability to summarize complex structures and related risks in a clear and concise manner
- Strong modelling skills and experience in using Excel, Word, PowerPoint and similar industry software
- Bilingualism English/French is considered a strong asset

Le/la directeur·rice, Risque de crédit, est responsable de l'examen des documents liés aux transactions et des modèles financiers, garantissant ainsi des évaluations rigoureuses du risque de crédit dans le cadre du financement d'infrastructures et de projets corporatifs/hybrides.
Le/la directeur·rice, Risque de crédit, doit avoir un esprit stratégique et être capable d'influencer les décisions d'investissement à chaque étape, de la réception à la clôture financière et au suivi continu. La supervision permet de définir et d'évaluer le profil de risque des investissements majeurs dans les infrastructures, tandis que la collaboration interfonctionnelle garantit la cohérence au sein de l'organisation.
Vos responsabilités :
- Examiner les documents de transaction et les modèles financiers internes et externes afin de réaliser des évaluations du risque de crédit de chaque investissement
- Réaliser et/ou examiner des scénarios indépendants et des analyses de sensibilité, y compris pour les projets en partenariat public-privé (PPP) et les transactions en matière d'infrastructures assujetties au risque lié aux revenus
- Fournir des recommandations sur les stratégies d'atténuation des risques, en faisant preuve de responsabilité et de capacité à prendre des décisions éclairées et à fort impact dans l'évaluation d'un large éventail d'investissements en infrastructures, y compris les projets traditionnels de dette, de capital-projet et de type capital
- Superviser et encadrer les associé·es, Risque de crédit, incluant la formation continue, le retour sur le rendement et la promotion d'un environnement de travail positif et solidaire, le/la directeur·trice, Risque de crédit, doit contribuer activement au développement des membres juniors de l'équipe, en démontrant son engagement envers le développement des talents et la cohésion de l'équipe
- S'assurer de l'exactitude et de l'exhaustivité des examens annuels et de l'adéquation de la classification du risque déterminé à l'interne
- Soumettre des rapports régulièrement au/à la chef·fe, Risque de crédit et incidence fiscale, sur le portefeuille des investissements et sur les développements du marché ou du secteur ayant une incidence sur le portefeuille
- Maintenir une connaissance approfondie de la dynamique du secteur, des tendances et des modèles de financement des infrastructures mondiales, tout en restant au courant des évolutions du marché et en partageant ses connaissances, ce qui permet au/à la directeur·rice, Risque de crédit, de se positionner comme un leader d'opinion au sein de l'organisation
- Communiquer avec l'équipe des investissements et les autres services de la BIC, notamment les finances et la comptabilité, au besoin, et leur transmettre les renseignements portant sur le portefeuille du point de vue du risque
Le profil idéal :
- Diplôme en finance, comptabilité, économie ou expérience équivalente, titre de CFA ou MBA hautement souhaitable
- Minimum de 7 à 10 ans d'expérience d'analyse de crédit acquise, idéalement, au sein d'une banque, d'une institution réglementée ou d'une banque de développement multilatérale ou institution financière internationale
- Capacité éprouvée à travailler avec différents services, à faciliter la communication et la collaboration afin de soutenir les objectifs organisationnels
- Expérience de la catégorie des actifs en infrastructures, des PPP et du financement de projet, de préférence, dans l'un des secteurs prioritaires de la BIC
- Expertise des pratiques exemplaires du marché touchant les prêts, l'investissement et l'évaluation du risque
- Expérience des méthodes de classification du risque de crédit, y compris le financement des infrastructures et des projets
