About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Commercial Transport Mechanic to perform CVIP inspections, troubleshoot and repair heavy trucks and trailers, and complete automotive suspension and brake service. You'll ensure equipment is safe, reliable, and compliant through accurate diagnostics, quality workmanship, and thorough documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform licensed CVIP inspections, prepare inspection reports, and complete required corrective repairs to meet regulatory standards.
  • Diagnose and repair heavy trucks and trailers, including engines, drivetrains, air and hydraulic brake systems, steering/suspension, electrical, lighting, and HVAC systems.
  • Conduct automotive service focused on suspension and brake components, including inspections, replacements, alignments, and system calibrations.
  • Execute preventative maintenance schedules, safety inspections, and compliance checks; identify and communicate additional repair needs.
  • Utilize diagnostic software, scan tools, and specialty equipment to pinpoint faults and validate repairs.
  • Complete accurate work orders, parts usage, and inspection documentation in accordance with shop and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace; follow all health and safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with service advisors/dispatch and, when needed, communicate findings and timelines to customers.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Red Seal or provincial trade certification .
  • Trailer-specific experience: air systems, lighting/wiring, suspension, landing gear, doors/roofs, structural/body repairs.
  • OEM or component certifications (e.g., Cummins, Detroit, Bendix, Meritor, Wabco/Knorr).
  • Welding experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00-$50.00 per hour
