We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic or Commercial Transport Mechanic to join our team, responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of heavy equipment, our fleet of dump trucks and other maintenance vehicles. You will be responsible for the maintenance, repairs, and assembly of our fleet. This position is a unique one, in that it is brand new, so there are lots of areas of opportunity for your creativity and personalization.

You will play a vital role in supporting the continued success of maintenance of the Golden Ears Bridge and surrounding areas by ensuring equipment is repaired and maintained in a timely manner. Take pride in knowing you are supporting the community

Who We Are

Miller Capilano Maintenance Corporation (MCMC) is the highway maintenance contractor for the beautiful Sea to Sky Highway in Southwestern British Columbia, as well as the critical corridor of the Golden Ears Bridge and Golden Ears Way. We are responsible for the continuous maintenance and operation of the bridge structures and connecting roads, ensuring the upkeep of all pavement, structures, signage, and much more. In addition to our highway services, we proudly operate a dedicated paving and road resurfacing fleet.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including dump trucks, trailers, and Heavy Duty Equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Perform routine scheduled/planned maintenance services, and safety inspections.
• Complete preventative maintenance such as tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation, filter replacements, brakes, steering, engine diagnostics.
• Repair mechanical and electrical systems.
• Complete required documentation.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines at all times.

What We Are Looking For

• Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic or Commercial Transport Mechanic
• Minimum 3 years of working experience as a Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic
• Authorized CVSE Inspector or willingness to acquire
• Class 3 license w/ Air Brake Endorsement
• Someone that is a "team player" with strong safety culture
• A creative individual who supports continuous improvement of our systems
• Preferred: Pressure Fuel Ticket, Welding/Fabrication experience, Computer & electronics experience, OFA Level 1 or higher
