Role Description

We are seeking a full-time Ruby on Rails Developer to join our team on-site in Nepean, ON. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain web applications, focusing on the back-end and front-end aspects of software. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, employ Test-Driven Development (TDD), implement Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles, and adhere to Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture to ensure efficient and scalable application development. Regular collaboration with engineers, designers, and other team members to support project goals and deliver high-quality solutions is required. The role also involves debugging, testing, and ensuring continuous improvement of applications.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Ruby on Rails with experience in Back-End Web Development
  • Strong skills in Front-End Development, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles
  • Experience with Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture and familiarity with development patterns
  • Experience using Test-Driven Development (TDD) and related testing frameworks
  • Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with database management systems, version control systems like Git, and deployment tools is advantageous
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience in the defense or aerospace industry is beneficial but not required
