Overview:

The Production Supervisor plays a critical leadership role in post-harvest operations at Coast Mountain Cannabis. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of product sampling, bulk packaging, and retail packaging. The ideal candidate brings a balance of operational discipline, team leadership, and cross-functional coordination to ensure that CMC's high-quality products are processed efficiently, compliantly, and in line with demand forecasts. This position works closely with the COO/CEO and Sales & Marketing Manager to align production with business goals.

Role and Responsibilities:

Sampling & Packaging Operations

  • Manage day-to-day operations of sampling, bulk packaging, and final packaging.
  • Ensure production meets internal quality standards, regulatory requirements, and demand forecasts.
  • Oversee packaging schedules and fulfillment targets to support product launches and regular SKUs.
  • Ensure sampling procedures (pre- and post-packaging) are followed, documented, and updated as needed.

People & Process Management

  • Lead, train, and support the packaging and post-harvest team with an emphasis on cross-training and development.
  • Support hiring and onboarding of production team members.
  • Provide ongoing feedback and performance evaluations; build a positive and accountable work environment.
  • Ensure team compliance with SOPs, Health Canada regulations, and internal QA standards.
  • Work with QA to resolve deviations, investigations, and change control processes.

Inventory and Supply Coordination

  • Align production activities with the schedule set by the Sales and Production Manager to meet demand forecasts and launch timelines.
  • Support forecasting and planning for material, labour, and inventory needs.
  • Manage inventory of bulk, packaged, and sample cannabis, ensuring accurate recordkeeping and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate with cultivation and QA teams to move product from harvest to release in a timely, traceable manner.
  • Oversee sourcing, ordering, and storage of packaging, PPE, and operational supplies.
  • Monitor stock levels and reorder packaging, PPE, and supplies to maintain workflow.

Reporting & Administration

  • Maintain and audit production documentation and inventory records.
  • Support sampling, bulk, and final packaging budget development and expense tracking in collaboration with the Sales Manager and COO.
  • Participate in regulatory matters, Health Canada inspections, and compliance responses.
  • Support GTIN registration, NNCP submissions, and recall readiness.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration

  • Serve as a key liaison between post-harvest, QA, sales, shipping, and cultivation departments.
  • Provide updates and insights on production flow, timelines, and readiness for launch.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains across departments.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience in cannabis or related manufacturing/CPG environment
  • Proven leadership in operations or production management
  • Strong understanding of Health Canada regulations and QA practices an asset
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills
  • Experience with demand planning, inventory systems, and compliance reporting is an asset
