Role: Supply Chain Professional
Location: Burnaby, BC - 2/3 days in office per week - 40 hours per week
Contract Duration: Jan June 2027
Maximum Incorporated Rate: $60.12/
Maximum T4 Rate: $49.69/
Experience and Role Accountabilities
• A minimum five (5) years of sourcing, category management or equivalent, preferably in a complex environment of a similar size to BC Hydro.
• Experience in categories or infrastructure capital project sourcing that are similar to BC Hydro's, would be considered an asset.
• Develop and plan the implementation of category and/or sourcing strategies or related work packages by using excellent skills in communication, analysis, critical thinking, planning/project management, supplier/market research, problem-solving, and facilitation of decision-making in a large and complex organization.
• Implement category and/or sourcing strategies or related work packages using a thorough understanding of BC Hydro sourcing and category management processes and standards, good project management practices, knowledge of public sector procurement law, and the appropriate application of relevant supply chain concepts.
• Lead and/or support projects that may include developing and conducting RFPs, preparing for and conducting negotiations, both initial award and for extensions, as well as implementing supplier relationship management initiatives including analyzing and resolving escalated contract or supplier issues.
• Establish and maintain positive and productive relationships between BC Hydro's supply chain organization and business partners, suppliers, and stakeholders through activities such as timely communication, resolution of issues, and relevant reporting.
Education and Skills
• Bachelor's degree in a business-related field such as Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Finance, or equivalent
• Certificate or additional education in Supply Chain Management, an asset
• Certificate or additional education in Project Management, an asset
• Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Advanced English skills for professional environment, written and spoken
Role Specialty
The Supply Chain Professional is accountable for delivering assigned outcomes related to the development and execution of project/project supply chain strategies, sourcing strategies and/or sourcing activities following established processes and quality requirements.
Medium to high complexity and/or risk work assignments(primarily project or program work) with minimal oversight.
A minimum 5 years - 7 years of sourcing, at a progressively complex environment, preferably in a complex public procurement environment of a similar size to BC Hydro preferred.
Develop and plan the implementation of sourcing strategies or related work packages by using excellent skills in communication, analysis, critical thinking, planning/project management, supplier/market research, problem-solving, and facilitation of decision-making in a large and complex organization.
Implement sourcing strategies or related work packages using a thorough understanding of BC Hydro sourcing processes and standards, good project management practices, knowledge of public sector procurement law, and the appropriate application of relevant supply chain concepts.
Lead and/or support projects/programs that may include developing and conducting competitive sourcing events (eg. RFPs, RFSQ, RFT, etc.). May include developing and conducting multi-stage RFx's.
Sourcing activities may also include First Nations directed procurement, province wide and global initiatives, and working with other utilities on joint initiatives (eg. Telus, Fortis).
Preparing approval document and negotiation strategy prior to initiating negotiations. Leading negotiations through to awarding of contract(s).
Implementing supplier relationship management initiatives including analyzing and resolving escalated contract or supplier issues.
Establish and maintain positive and productive relationships between BC Hydro's supply chain organization and business partners, suppliers, and stakeholders through activities such as timely communication, resolution of issues, and relevant reporting.
