About The Day-to-day

• Evaluate and recommend conventional and CMHC mortgage loans in the Region in accordance with procedures and policy guidelines
• Coordinate with Account Manager and regional VP on new loan applications for all types of real estate transactions from inquiry stage to formal commitment
• Engage directly with clients and brokers throughout the loan application process, ensuring high-quality underwriting standards and cultivating strong, professional relationships
• Review appraisals, environmental and building condition reports and any other third-party reports in accordance with policy
• Review and verify all required documentation from CMHC and the internal credit approval team to ensure completeness and compliance
• Ensure timely and accurate execution of rate locks and delivery of all related documentation to clients and brokers
• Create and monitor monthly results reports, including inputting data through CRM
• Be able to quantify the impact of loans by focusing on improving key metrics, KPIs, and maximizing ROI

About The Qualifications

• Over 3 years of experience in the commercial real estate finance industry with a strong understanding of Canadian commercial real estate markets
• Strong financial background and acumen
• Comprehensive understanding of CMHC policies, corporate lending guidelines, and regional market dynamics
• Proficient in analyzing financial statements to support informed decision-making
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management abilities
• Skilled at prioritizing tasks effectively to meet business objectives
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including data analysis, visualization, and automation
• Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within teams
• Well-versed in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) compliance requirements
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Thrives under pressure, consistently delivering results within tight deadlines
• CFA, CPA, MFin, or equivalent qualifications are preferred

About The Work Environment
Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home. Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm with flexibility around start/end times.

Peoples Group is pleased to offer employees a competitive annual salary plus a discretionary profit share opportunity. Salary for this position will vary between $70,000 and $80,000 per year depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities and experience that the chosen candidate possesses.
