The Opportunity - Operations Superintendent
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Operations Superintendent provides strong and effective leadership and direction to front-line supervisory staff while working closely with all other departments. This role will appeal to individuals who can bring out the best in others and have a keen appetite for career development, personal growth, and achievement.
The Operations Superintendent ensures the safe and efficient coordination of all production activities on the site, including the sawmill, planer, log yard, kilns, lumber yard, and shipping; striving to achieve safety, environmental, operational, quality, and financial objectives that are consistent with the strategic direction set by the company. This role champions and leads a 'safety first' work culture, fostering a respectful workplace environment that engages people in the pursuit of organizational goals and accountability.
Among other responsibilities, the Operations Superintendent:
- Facilitates and promotes a safe and positive working environment, ensuring the highest level of workplace safety
- Ensures compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures, and applicable government regulations
- Optimizes production and maintenance performance to improve operational efficiency
- Provides leadership, training, and support for operating and maintenance personnel and fosters a highly effective working relationship with all employees
- Facilitate the development of supervisory personnel
- Participates in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control as it relates to the operation of the plant
- Participates in capital planning and the implementation of those plans

They will also possess exceptional communication abilities and outstanding leadership skills.

The salary range for this position is $121,696 to $139,950 annually.
