Position:

GlassMasters is looking for an Autoglass Technician for our Kelowna location. In this role, you will be working with Autoglass Technicians and Autoglass Assistants to ensure the safe and efficient replacement and repair of all automotive glass. You will be responsible for basic shop/ mobile crew tasks such as prepping glass, performing rock chip repairs/ crack repairs, performing LDWS calibrations, pick-up and delivery service of various account/ customers vehicles, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the shop and mobile vans. This is a fast-paced environment with high expectations around efficiency and quality of work, especially during the initial 90-day probationary period. Once your initial 90-day probation is completed; a good candidate can be expected to become eligible to partake in our in-house C.I.A Technician Training Program to learn new tips and tricks At this time, you will also become eligible to join our lucrative daily productivity Installer Bonus Program which is paid out quarterly. Responsibilities:

  • Confidently perform glass replacements on all forms of Automotive glass and any brand of vehicle including: front windshield, door, quarter, vent, back, sunroof glass.
  • Proficient in specialty glass replacements including: recreational vehicles (RV's), heavy equipment (excavator, bobcat, etc.), classic cars, supercars, ability to custom cut flat glass.
  • Confidence in using knowledge and experience to tackle new vehicles with unknown retainers/fasteners without causing damage.
  • Demonstrate a general understanding of basic 12-volt electrical systems diagnostics and repair including: using a multimeter to check for continuity of heat grids/wires, general understanding of resistance (Ohms), checking fuses, ability to repair wires with solder/ butt connectors.
  • Proficient in ADAS systems diagnostics and Calibration procedures.
  • Maintain a clean drivers abstract as operating vehicles is essential to their employment.
  • Willingly and without complaint, perform mobile installations when required.
  • Safe and efficient preparation of all automotive glass.
  • Perform calibrations.
  • Rock Chip repairs.
  • Crack repairs.
  • Loading/ unloading mobile vans.
  • Drive company and account vehicles responsibly and safely.
  • Maintain a clean shop/ workspace, and/or mobile Van.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and service.
  • Open to changing employment locations to meet the changing demands of the business
  • Within the greater metropolitan area of the city of their initial employment.
  • Ability and willingness to assist in front end operations when required.
  • MUST be honest in reporting any damage/ issues to their manager immediately.
  • Never attempt to hide or fix issues without the store manager being involved first to assess the situation and decide proper course of action.
  • Must be willing to accept responsibility for mistakes freely, without argument, and be open to constructive feedback and corrective action.
  • Always pursue excellence in your craft, be open to change, seek advice/ understanding from all available resources (Coworkers, YouTube, internet forums, Autoglass Facebook groups, etc.), and push themselves in production capability.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Valid Class S Driver's License.
  • Clean Driver's Abstract.
  • Professional Appearance/ maintain proper hygiene standards.
  • Positive Attitude.
  • Ability to perform in a high-volume environment.
  • Solid work ethic and ability to deliver exceptional Customer service.
  • Commitment to quality control.
  • Works well in a team environment.

Schedule:

  • Day shift - Monday to Friday.
  • Weekend availability (every other Saturday).
  • Hours vary depending on season.

Pay: From $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 50 per week
