Our client, a well-established and highly respected independent Wealth Advisor within a leading Canadian investment firm, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Investment Advisor Assistant to join their Toronto-based team. This is a pivotal role for an organized, detail-oriented professional committed to delivering exceptional client service in the financial services industry.
Role Summary
You will work closely with the lead Advisor, playing an integral role in the day-to-day operations and management of a busy advisory practice. Your contribution is key to maintaining long-term client relationships and ensuring seamless administrative and operational workflow.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Support: Work alongside the Advisor to support and strengthen long-term relationships through high-touch service.
Administrative Management: Expertly manage daily client administration, including meticulous account maintenance, documentation processing, and proactive follow-ups.
Trade Execution Support: Assist with the accurate execution and prompt confirmation of client investment transactions.
Service & Inquiries: Act as a key point of contact, providing quotes, responding to client inquiries, and ensuring timely, accurate service delivery.
Data & Reporting: Maintain accurate client records, prepare essential reports, and organize detailed account lists and data.
Onboarding & Compliance: Support client onboarding processes, including Know Your Client (KYC) updates, account opening, and management of transfer requests.
Marketing & Engagement: Contribute to client service initiatives, such as newsletters, touchpoint campaigns, and client engagement activities.
Meeting Coordination: Assist with the organization of client meetings, appointments, and overall communications.
Operational Support: Perform additional administrative and operational duties necessary to support the Advisor and overall client experience.
Skills & Qualifications
Requirement
Description
Industry Experience
2–3+ years in the investment, financial services, or wealth management sector.
Education
Completion or near completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC). Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH) is an asset (or willingness to obtain).
Knowledge Base
Strong understanding of investment products, client account processes, and back-office procedures.
Client Focus
Excellent communication skills and a professional, client-first mindset.
Organizational Skills
Exceptional organizational ability, strong attention to detail, and proven capacity to meet deadlines.
Work Ethic
Ability to manage competing priorities, take initiative, and work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
Technical Skills
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Added Asset
An interest in financial planning and/or insurance.
Compensation & Growth
Competitive Salary: $65,000 – $75,000 (commensurate with experience and qualifications)
