Job Summary:
The role of a Home Care Personal Support Worker - Behavioural Support involves providing individualized support and assistance to clients with their daily living activities, aiming to enhance their independence and overall well-being. This includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one support and guidance to a teenager needing emotional support.
Assist with daily routines, including crafts, and play time.
Develop and implement strategies to help the young client manage their emotional symptoms.
Encourage and support the young client's participation in activities that promote physical, emotional, and social growth.
Collaborate with the employer and client's family to ensure consistency and continuity of care.
Maintain a safe and healthy environment for the young client.
Communicate effectively with the employer and the client's family regarding the client's daily activities, progress, and any concerns.
These duties aim to promote the client's independence, enhance their quality of life, and ensure a safe and supportive living environment. This role is not only challenging but also incredibly rewarding, as it allows you to make a real difference in the lives of those you care for.
Requirements:
Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) - Completion Certification and experience.
Trauma-informed care (TIC) - Completion Certification and experience.
First Aid and CPR Level C certification
Valid Class 5 Driver's License
Reliable Vehicle to commute to and from client's home.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in home care or a related field (preferred)
Experience working with a teenager needing emotional support
Availability in the specified work hours (8:00 AM to 12:00 PM & 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM).
Current clear criminal record check (within 90 days)
Three references (can be provided after the interview)
Shifts Available:
Sunday - Saturday: 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Sunday - Saturday: 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM
These times are firm and cannot be adjusted.
