We are looking for an Analyst II TIS Data Analytics to join our team in Calgary AB.

The primary focus of this position is to provide development and support expertise for the existing portfolio of Data Analytics operations, including data warehousing, reports, dashboards, and other BI and Analytics solution components that exist within Enbridge. This also includes working closely with Managed Service delivery activities as required.

What You Will Do:

  • Ensure that assigned daily support activities are dealt with in a successful and timely manner

  • Acts as a liaison with business requestors; captures and documents business, data, and BI and Analytics requirements; turns the requirements into technical specifications

  • Provide technical guidance and business intelligence and analytics know-how in addressing business needs

  • Interpret data needs into extraction specifications and program design

  • Manage and maintain the code / scripts that extract, transform, clean, & move data into Data Marketplace

  • Design, document and develop dimensional and tabular data models

  • Validate that Data Marketplace meets requirements and Service-Level expectations

  • Understand and implement BI and Analytics best practices for dashboard & report development

  • Test developed components including ensuring conformance to security requirements

  • Configure BI and Analytics tools on both back-end and front-end; develop the semantic and metadata layers

  • Create and deliver end-user training & documentation as required

  • Provide second line support to other BI and Analytics developers and Power Users

  • Communicate effectively and frequently with the assigned clients as their requests are being fulfilled; be responsive and available to client concerns, issues, feedback, and questions

  • Provide detailed designs for implementation by the Managed Service delivery teams

  • Perform system tests and quality assurance activities on AMS authored components to validate and verify before Production releases

  • Provide technical oversight for all solution enhancement designs; ensure that enhancements and changes are aligned with technical direction

Who You Are:

  • Related university degree OR two-year technical diploma

  • Minimum 2+ years development experience in a complex data environment or equivalent

  • Hands-on development experience with SQL Server technology

  • Experience with Microsoft BI stack and working experience with Azure tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory V2, Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2) and resources stack

  • Experience with BI and analytical UX development using Microsoft Power BI

  • Demonstrate knowledge of ETL patterns and best practices and apply them for future re-use

  • Understanding of SQL Server and Oracle database technologies

  • Hands-on experience with BI and analytical modeling; ideally having participated in the full lifecycle of activities

  • Comprehensive understanding of BI and Data Warehousing design principles, techniques, and standards

  • Comprehensive understanding of reporting, dashboards, and data visualization development

  • Experience with wire framing tools

  • Background in designing analytics portals / dashboards, or metrics application User interfaces

  • Possess excellent model development, communication, documentation, and coordination skills

  • Ability to conceptualize in an iterative manner with business representatives

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong data related analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, perform independently, and work well within a team

  • Proven ability to solve problems and deliver high quality solutions on time in a fast-paced environment

  • Possess excellent development skills across technologies

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment (or working remotely, if needed)

  • Travel as required to other office locations, conferences and training locations

  • Fast paced environment frequently dealing with multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously
