TEAM & CULTURE
Our Survey Team is seeking an individual with a flexible schedule to work with our team on multiple heavy civil construction projects throughout British Columbia. The right candidate will have the training and confidence to support the construction team in earthworks, concrete structures, and pipelines.
A Surveyor's first responsibility is to perform duties in a safe and effective manner at all times on the job site. You must have neat handwriting for recording field data, be able to interpret construction drawings and perform on-the-spot field calculations for layout, build complex templates from road alignments, and have strong mathematical skills, and attention to detail.
As a Surveyor you will perform field layout and calculations, carry out topographical surveys, work off GPS setups and third-party control networks, work with Total Station and GNSS survey gear, and establish new control in remote locations. A thorough understanding of Trimble GNSS and Robotic equipment is mandatory.
EXPECTATIONS
The successful candidate must be able to perform a minimum of the following:
- Accurate field layout from plan
- Layout complex structures with accuracy
- Layout and as build of penstock water conveyance system
- Topographical surveying
- Familiar with CAD quantity calculations
- Field calculations
- Setting up control in the work area
- Understanding of site emergency response plan
- Understanding of site environmental response plan, including use of spill kit and any other environmental – erosion control products required
- Compliance with site safety regulations applicable to site & assigned work
- Comfortable working independently
QUALIFICATIONS
- Mandatory understanding of Trimble GNSS and Robotic equipment is mandatory.
- Must have a minimum 2-years experience as a construction surveyor.
- Class 5 driver's licence.
- Pass random drug and alcohol pre-screening.
- Physically fit to perform duties
