The Lasting Lab is a youth-led, community-driven initiative dedicated to empowering immigrant, refugee, and first-generation youth and young adults (15+) of all genders. Based in Canada with an international reach, we create safe, inclusive spaces where young people can learn, lead, and grow together.

Our work focuses on youth leadership, community engagement, education access, and skill-building through hands-on involvement. Through programs such as the Youth Congress, committees, mentorship, and partnerships with trusted institutions, The Lasting Lab supports young people in developing confidence, leadership skills, and a strong sense of belonging.

We are currently seeking committed volunteers to support the growth and impact of our community through partnership-building, communication, and mentorship.

Role Description

The Community Partnerships Lead will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with community organizations, stakeholders, and collaborators to advance The Lasting Lab's mission. Key day-to-day tasks include facilitating community engagement activities, organizing events, managing partnerships, and supporting the development of community-focused initiatives. The role also involves fostering meaningful communication with team members, stakeholders, and community representatives. This is a full-time, on-site role located in the Greater Ottawa Metropolitan Area.

The Community Partnerships Lead plays a key role in expanding The Lasting Lab's reach by building and maintaining relationships with schools, NGOs, youth centers, and community organizations. This role helps ensure that youth have access to safe, supportive, and meaningful opportunities for engagement and growth.

Serving as a connector between The Lasting Lab and external partners, you will support outreach efforts and help strengthen the organization's presence within communities.

  • Reach out to schools, NGOs, youth centers, and community organizations
  • Build and maintain relationships with trusted and aligned institutions
  • Support the coordination of information sessions, workshops, or collaborations
  • Work closely with internal teams to align partnerships with organizational values and goals

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal skills and proficient in community engagement
  • Exceptional communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Experience in customer service and community management
  • Ability to establish and sustain collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong organizational and event management skills
  • Passion for youth, community inclusion, and development
  • Proficiency in additional languages and knowledge of the immigrant or refugee experience are assets
  • Relevant educational qualifications or professional experience in community development, social work, or related fields
  • Interest or experience in community engagement, outreach, or partnerships
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Alignment with youth empowerment and inclusion values
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
