Space Copy is pioneering the next generation of in-situ resource utilization (ISRU), robotics, autonomous manufacturing, and space resource systems.
We are seeking graduate students, senior undergraduates, and early-career professionals for a highly selective internship program designed to accelerate technical innovation and support ambitious research, engineering, and strategic initiatives across the organization.

- Graphic Design & Technical Visualization
To qualify for any position in this program, candidates must:
- Be currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a relevant degree program (minimum 3 years completed).
- Have at least one prior internship, co-op, industry project, or research experience in aerospace, robotics, manufacturing, engineering, computing, policy, design, or a related field.
- Be a fluent or native English speaker with strong communication and documentation skills.
- Be proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Show a strong desire to work in high-intensity, multidisciplinary engineering environments.
- Demonstrate independent problem-solving, self-directed learning, and ownership of complex tasks.
1. ISRU / Engineering
Open to all engineering disciplines with relevant background in aerospace, manufacturing, materials, or 3D printing.
What You'll Work On
- Developing hardware and processes for extrusion-based and powder-bed fusion 3D printing.
- Supporting design, testing, and optimization of ISRU systems, regolith simulant processing, thermal control systems, and structural/material components for extreme environments.
- Assisting in mechanical prototyping, material characterization, and lab-scale process development.
Resume Criteria
- Experience with hybrid AM systems.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, Fusion 360, OnShape, and/or ANSYS.
- Strong understanding of material selection, structural analysis, thermodynamics, and thermal management.
- Prior hands-on engineering or manufacturing experience.
- Ability to perform mechanical design, CAD assembly work, and prototype fabrication.
2. Computer Science / AI
For candidates passionate about edge computing, robotics intelligence, and AI model deployment.
What You'll Work On
- Building and fine-tuning AI/ML models for onboard analysis, perception, and decision-making.
- Developing edge inference pipelines for autonomous manufacturing and robotic perception systems.
- Designing efficient algorithms for real-time robotics, sensor integration, and environmental understanding.
Resume Criteria
- Proficiency in Python and Rust (C++ is a strong bonus).
- Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or ONNX.
- Familiarity with deploying AI on Jetson, Raspberry Pi, or embedded compute systems.
- Prior experience with robotics software, perception, or autonomous systems preferred.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and version control experience.
3. Robotics
Ideal for builders who love hands-on integration, manipulation, and autonomous system development.
What You'll Work On
- Designing, building, and testing manipulators, autonomous subsystems, and experimental robots.
- Contributing to motion planning, controls, state estimation, and embedded runtime development.
- Integrating advanced sensors such as LiDAR, thermal cameras, IMUs, vibration sensors, and visual perception systems.
Resume Criteria
- Proven ability to complete independent robotics projects (not only group coursework).
- Experience with ROS/ROS2, real-time robotics code, and sensor integration.
- Proficiency in Python and/or C++, with understanding of kinematics and control theory.
- Familiarity with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and electrical bring-up.
- Strong hardware–software debugging and iterative testing skills.
4. Physics / Space Resource Systems
For candidates with deep interest in planetary resources, energy systems, and applied physics.
What You'll Work On
- Modeling thermochemical processes, regolith behavior, and environmental interactions.
- Conducting experimental analysis, sensor testing, and data reduction for space-relevant materials.
- Assisting in simulation and modeling for ISRU processes, extreme-environment thermodynamics, and physical system performance.
Resume Criteria
- Academic background in physics, planetary science, geophysics, materials, or space resources.
- Experience with numerical modeling, simulations, or laboratory analysis.
- Familiarity with regolith mechanics, thermal systems, or environmental simulation equipment.
- Previous research experience in space systems or applied physics preferred.
5. Public Policy / Finance
For candidates supporting mission strategy, funding, regulation, and financial modeling.
What You'll Work On
- Developing content for government funding proposals (NASA, CSA, ESA, DOE, NSERC, etc.).
- Preparing whitepapers, policy briefs, and economic analyses related to aerospace and ISRU.
- Supporting financial modeling, cost projections, and partner engagement materials.
Resume Criteria
- Background in public policy, government relations, international affairs, finance, accounting, law, economics, commerce, business administration, or regulatory studies.
- Experience writing policy briefs, research papers, or technical reports.
- Understanding of federal grant mechanisms and emerging space regulatory frameworks.
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling, Excel/Sheets, cost analysis, and reporting.
- Experience supporting tech, engineering, or innovation-focused organizations is an asset.
6. Graphic Design
For creatives who can translate complex engineering into compelling visuals.
What You'll Work On
- Creating technical graphics, illustrations, and renders for private and public-facing material.
- Designing visuals for grant submissions, media, presentations, and educational assets.
- Collaborating with engineers to visualize 3D printing systems, robotics, and space infrastructure.
Resume Criteria
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Blender, or CAD-based rendering tools.
- Ability to simplify complex ideas into clean, technically accurate visual material.
- Prior experience creating graphics for engineering, aerospace, or scientific content is preferred.
