The Ruby Rock Group is looking for a hard-working and dependable Paving Forman to lead our paving team. This role is critical to achieving high-quality asphalt finishes our team has the reputation of delivering. This position requires attention to detail, teamwork, strong work ethic and leadership skills, good communication and time management .The Forman will work with the Paving Superintendent to insure projects are completed on time/ under budget and are Ruby Rock quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily tailgate and FLHA
  • Lead and supervise crew working on municipal, subdivision, commercial and overlay projects
  • Ensure high quality asphalt laydown, meeting mat quality and compaction standards
  • Coordinate daily productions with superintendent
  • Complete required paperwork accurately each day
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture, and ensure all crew members follow company and provincial safety procedures
  • Train, mentor, and support crew members maintain a positive, accountable team environment
  • Identify and resolve field issues to maintain safe and efficient production
  • Preform other related duties as required

Must-Have Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in asphalt paving
  • Minimum 3 years experience supervising paving crew
  • Strong understanding of paving processes, grades, slopes and paving standards
  • Valid class 5 drivers licence with clean abstract
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding outdoor environment with extended hours and weekends as required
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and conflict resolution skills
  • Commitment to quality and safety on every project
