Our client, a bustling law firm located in downtown Toronto, is currently presenting an enticing opportunity for a seasoned Legal Bookkeeper with prior experience in law firms to become part of their expanding team.
Your new role
In this new position, you will assume responsibility for the Firm's day-to-day bookkeeping operations, collaborating closely with the external Bookkeeper and Accounting Firm to ensure financial integrity and compliance with government filings and payment/payroll deadlines. Your duties will encompass managing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and the General Ledger. Additionally, you will be tasked with preparing pre-bills and posting invoices for clients, as well as generating billing and collections reports. You will also play a pivotal role in posting/importing all expenses and disbursements into PCLaw, while overseeing banking and cash flow management.
What you will need to succeed
To qualify for this role, candidates must possess a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, with prior legal experience being essential. Proficiency in PCLaw software and other accounting software is necessary. Additionally, candidates should hold an accounting/bookkeeping designation such as CMA, CGA, CPA, or possess an accounting diploma/degree.
