Production Planner – Plastic Sheet Manufacturing

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Production Planner to join our plastic sheet manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will manage production scheduling, material planning, cross-department coordination and customer communication to ensure efficient operations and on-time delivery.

Duties

  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules for plastic sheet extrusion lines.
  • Review customer orders and forecast demand to plan capacity and material requirements.
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials (resins, additives, packaging).
  • Maintain accurate production data, work orders, and inventory levels using SAP S/4HANA.
  • Monitor WIP and finished goods inventory to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Adjust schedules based on machine availability, staffing levels, and urgent order changes.
  • Communicate production plans to supervisors, operators, and logistics teams.
  • Analyze production performance and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Collaborate with quality control to ensure product specifications and standards are met.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 2+ years of production planning experience within manufacturing (plastics industry preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA production planning and inventory modules (PP/MM).
  • Strong knowledge of production workflows and extrusion processes.
  • Proficient in demand forecasting, material planning, and capacity scheduling.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Understanding of resin formulations, extrusion line capabilities, and material behavior.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and production specifications.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
