At Fresh St. Market's Floral Department, we are definitely a cut above the rest. We believe that the best way to build a great flower shop is to start with the people behind the counter We also maintain clean work areas, update displays, and inform customers about specials, promotions, and new items.

Your duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Recipe for Success

• Bring a positive attitude every day
• Greet customers when they arrive at the flower shop, and inquire into their choices
• Provide customers with information on available flowers and show them around the place
• Accept payments for purchases
• Wrap arranged flowers in paper, foil, and ribbon
• Ensure that all displays remain fresh by giving them water, and ensuring that sufficient fresh air is provided
• Ensure that the assigned floral shop or counter is kept clean and neat at all times
• Performing any additional duties assigned by the Department Manager

About You:

• You have an impeccable level of cleanliness, attention to detail and organization
• You thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt well to shifting priorities
• You are highly self-motivated and work well under minimal supervision
• You possess strong customer service skills
• You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• You work well with others in a fast-paced environment
• Previous work experience is a plus but not required. If you are willing to learn, we are eager to train you with the skills you need to succeed
• You can work on your feet up to 8 hours in a day
• You have a valid work authorization (i.e., work permit, student permit, PR) in Canada

Physical Requirements of the Job

• You can lift, push or pull up to a maximum of 50 lbs.
• You can climb up and down ladders.
• You can work on your feet up to 8 hours a day.

The Fine Print:

Upon hire, new employees will be placed in a starting wage between the minimum and P50 (midpoint) of the wage range. The P50 of the range represents an employee that possesses full job knowledge, qualifications, and experience for the position. In some circumstances, the new employee may be eligible for compensation beyond the P50 of the salary range. Factors that influence this decision include full job knowledge, qualifications, internal equity, and experience in a similar role.
