Position Type: Full-Time
Position Summary
The Client Relationship Manager role provides high-level support to the CEO and ensures that ICLD's projects, proposals, and partnerships are planned, secured, and delivered with excellence. This position is responsible for proposal writing, developing project workplans and budgets, maintaining relationships with customers and funders, and overseeing contracts once awarded to ensure milestones, deliverables, and budgets are met.
This role requires someone who is organized, relationship-focused, and able to turn ideas into actionable plans. Working closely with the CEO, the Client Relationship Manager role helps translate ICLD's vision, community needs, and strategic goals into well-structured, culturally grounded, and trauma-informed projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Proposal Development & Funding Support
- Write and prepare proposals, grant applications, letters of intent, and supporting documents.
- Work with the CEO to translate program concepts and Nation-specific needs into clear, compelling narratives.
- Build proposal attachments including budgets, timelines, workplans, and job descriptions.
- Conduct background research such as labour market data, best practices, and funder requirements.
- Ensure proposals reflect ICLD's trauma-informed and Two-Eyed Seeing frameworks.
2. Project Work planning & Budget Development
- Create detailed project workplans that outline milestones, timelines, deliverables, roles, and resources.
- Develop and manage project budgets, forecast spending, and align costs with funder guidelines.
- Work with the CEO, Elders, communities, and subject matter experts to co-design project components.
- Support development of evaluation plans, data collection tools, and progress tracking systems.
3. Customer, Community & Funder Engagement
- Serve as a key contact for funders, clients, and community partners.
- Attend external meetings with the CEO, capture next steps, and ensure timely follow-up.
- Prepare presentation materials, briefing notes, agendas, and communication packages.
- Build positive, respectful relationships rooted in cultural safety and mutual accountability.
4. Contract Management & Project Oversight
- Review contracts upon award to ensure clear understanding of obligations, deliverables, and budget lines.
- Manage project timelines and task assignments, ensuring work stays on track.
- Monitor expenditures, track milestones, and prepare status updates and funder reports.
- Coordinate with facilitators, consultants, service delivery teams, and finance to ensure seamless project execution.
- Maintain organized documentation in Teams/SharePoint according to ICLD protocols.
5. Internal Collaboration & System Improvement
- Work closely with the CEO and Director of Service Delivery to align project planning with operational capacity.
- Help strengthen internal workflow, templates, and processes related to proposals, contracts, and reporting.
- Participate in project debriefs and apply learnings to future planning.
- Provide support in strategic planning and long-term project development.
