Class 3 Long-Haul Driver (Full Time) – Dartmouth, NS

Primary Responsibilities

  • Deliver tube trailers or cargos of high pressure cylinders, liquid containers and/or hardgoods and occasionally bulk liquid product between branches and plants.
  • May load and unload cylinders to include counting and recording quantities and styles of product to ensure actual load complies with shipping documents.
  • Complete shipping orders and related paperwork.
  • Complete trip records, fuel tickets, and other necessary reports.
  • Conduct pre and post trip inspections noting and explaining defects or deficiencies to the Supervisor.
  • Identify the need for repairs and/or maintenance to vehicles

Education:

  • High school graduate or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • Valid, incident free, applicable provincial driver's license: Class 3 license with air endorsement.
  • Able to manipulate a variety of cylinder sizes and weights as required.
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training.
  • Other considerations:
  • Knowledge of compressed gases and safe handling.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
  • Team player willing to work with others.
  • Customer focus and reliable.
  • Some computers skills would be an asset.
  • Willing to be flexible and work in fast pace environment.
  • Problem solver and able to work alone.
