Maintenance Electrician

Job Purpose
The Electrician is responsible for equipment installation, routine repair, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance of electrical circuits and control systems associated with the facility and the equipment within it.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assembling and installing machines, then evaluating them to ensure they Meet Project Compliance Requirements.
Must comply with the company approved Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Industrial Establishments, Fire Code, the company Health, and Safety Policy Manual, and GMP policies and procedures to ensure the control of all food safety hazards.
Ensure Compliance with LOTO while performing hazardous tasking procedures identified.
Identifying and repairing problematic machine parts by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new parts to ensure minimum downtime.
Repair and replace the pneumatic cylinder, valves, motor, and pumps, renew the seals and o ring rectify the air leak in the plant machine and Equipment as per manufactures manuals and instruction procedures.
Repair and replace various sensors, Timers, Power supply, Contactor, electric motors, servo motors, servo modules, heaters, Thermocouples and electrical and electronics components as per manufactures manuals and instruction procedures.
Wire and power up the machine and plant equipment per proper CSA standards.
Calibrate diverse types of sensors used in machines and plant equipment as per manufactures manuals and instruction procedures.
While performing major repairs, fix the tagged loose-fitting, air leaks, burnt contact, hose, pipe, and connection in machine and plant equipment.
Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
Meeting internal communication requirements on identified platforms, in written form, e-mail, or any electronic format as instructed, or in person according to need of management approved process.
Collaborating with team and working as group to accomplish tasks assigned. Assist young and inexperienced millwrights in problem-solving as needed. Train the new team members wherever possible and knowledge transfer as necessary and as required.
After the repair closes, the necessary assigned work orders through interal with all information implemented to fix the machine.
Revisit the repaired machine and Equipment after hours of operation to ensure that the machine and Equipment are working to their potential.
Update the spare part usage in the inventory tool and report to the parts usage in interal work order.
Assist Parts and purchase co Ordinator in maintaining parts inventory checks and balances.
Co-work along with outside service contractors, vendors, and service engineers as required.
Communicate and assist with maintenance co Ordinator to update the machine manual and drawings.
Performing the task assigned by the maintenance supervisor and maintenance co Ordinator and closing posted work orders in time to ensure minimal machine and plant equipment downtime.
Participate in daily departmental meetings. Reporting daily status updates of the assigned task and its completeness.
Actively participate in internal and external training and share knowledge with the team.
Skills and Qualifications
· Licensed Electrician (309A or 442A)
· Working knowledge of PLC's and complex control systems.
· Good command of the English language to communicate clearly with co-workers and supervisors.
· Read and comprehend complex electrical schematics.
· Experience with motor controls, heating controls, transformers, safety circuits and automated systems.
· Understanding of Ontario Electrical Standards and Electrical distribution systems.
· Strong time management skills
· Must be able to conduct task-based risk assessments to identify safety hazards.
Physical and mental effort:
· Standing, walking, and moving over and through equipment.
· Can be heavy lifting, pulling, or wrenching.
· Many activities and movements require constant attention to detail.
· Good reading and verbal communication skills are required.
· Bilingual is an asset.
· Must be aware of all possible safety hazards.
Working conditions
· Must wear safety shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, Arc Flash PPE, hair net and any other appropriate PPE where required in the plant.
· Will be exposed to hot, humid condition in the summer months and noise.
· Must be aware of all possible safety hazards.
· Bending and lifting might be necessary when filing.
· Work involves a high degree of visual attention involving constant attention when working on equipment.
· Must be able to work flexible working hours to accommodate machine breakdowns.

· Training as per all applicable SOPs
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $38.00-$46.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 48 per week
