We're looking for a Sous Chef to join us at the Magpie & Stump Magpie & Stump guarantees a classic Banff experience complete with tacos, tequila and debauchery. This little piece of Mexico in the mountains serves up tacos, burritos, enchiladas and over 60 tequilas. In the summer months, join us on 'El Patio' - our sun-drenched rooftop taco bar home to open-air starlight fiestas, serving up margaritas and cervezas under the Banff sky. Want to know more? What You'll Do:

  • Lead and support the kitchen team in delivering high-quality food and guest experiences.
  • Work closely with the Chef de Cuisine to keep the kitchen organized, efficient, and running to standard.
  • Oversee food prep and presentation, ensuring consistency, quality, and attention to detail.
  • Help train, guide, and develop team members while identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Monitor food storage and waste, keeping detailed records and ensuring all safety and cleanliness standards are met.
  • Act as a culture leader—supporting hiring efforts and helping to build a strong, collaborative kitchen team.
