Position Title: Home Care Worker

Job Overview:

This is a casual part-time position with very limited hours a week). We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Home Care Workers. As a Home Care Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing essential support and assistance to individuals who require care in their own homes. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others and contribute to their well-being and independence.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized care and support to clients in their homes, respecting their dignity, privacy, and individuality.
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility assistance.
  • Administer medication as prescribed by healthcare professionals, ensuring adherence to medication schedules and safety protocols.
  • Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding, adhering to dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as cleaning, laundry, and tidying up living spaces to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for clients.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, engaging in meaningful conversations, activities, and recreational pursuits.
  • Monitor and report any changes in clients' health, behavior, or condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals or supervisors.
  • Escort clients to appointments, errands, or social outings as needed, ensuring their safety and well-being during transportation.
  • Collaborate effectively with other members of the care team, including family members, caregivers, nurses, and healthcare professionals, to coordinate and deliver comprehensive care.
  • Document care activities, observations, and relevant information accurately and timely in client records and reports.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in caregiving, home care, or a related field is a must.
  • Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards clients and their families.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow care plans and instructions effectively.
  • Reliable, responsible, and trustworthy with a commitment to client confidentiality.
  • Basic knowledge of personal care techniques, hygiene practices, and safety procedures.
  • Physical stamina and agility to perform caregiving tasks and assist clients with mobility.
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation (if required).
  • Successful completion of background checks and screenings.
